Chris, what in my comments suggests to you that I’m anything but relaxed? Sitting in my pool with a great cappucino doesn’t wind me up. And Having been here for some years now and a homeowner, I understand the value of listening to Thai people very well. But there are not any Thai people here on this string.

There are several ways to avoid the 800k deposit and many do so. Even as a Canadian you can still get a letter from the embassy showing 65k baht income in Canada. LTR visa doesn’t require it. DTV also. Thai Privilege. It’s great to have options. Welcome to Thailand. More and more Canadians figuring it out

yes it is up to me. So why are you trying to force your silly idea on everyone here. If you love standing in line every year at government offices, that’s great. Some will do anything they are told.

Not having a problem in 30 years is hardly unusual. A chimpanzee can do it themselves. But they are making chimpanzee style financial decisions. But judging by the many discussions here, many more people have problems with immigration than reputable agencies don’t they?

no you didn’t do it. There is no ‘extension’ possible for 60 day visa exempt past the 30 day extension. You can only extend a visa. Not a visa exemption. It’s the way it’s been for over 20 years

why are you making stuff up that you clearly don’t grasp?

yes, i do think so. But let's go with your explanation. Which agent are you using and i can reach out to them and get a quote. 7k is a great deal with them looking after everything. That would be awesome. Thanks

you don't understand?? How is that possible? Does leaving 800k baht in a thai bank account at zero or ultra low interest make any financial sense at all? The answer is no. Leave the 800k invested elsewhere. At merely 5% it generate 40k baht annually, which pays the 15 k renewal fee and puts another 25k in your pocket while you let the agent do the work for you. Just as it has been done for many years

They don't do that at all. They obtain a 90 day Non-O and then a one year extension for purpose of retirement
