I don't have enough funds available for the 400k which I understand i would need, but if I have another job lined up. I may go the income route if I get a letter from my new employers in time. However the papers, especially the tax papers tend to be complicated especially when moving companies so I think leaving the country may be better to start this moving.

Thanks Robert and Benjamin. Yes, Ok I will canx my extension of stay based on employment and then leave the country the next day. I want to get the 3 month non o based on marriage and then when i start my new job I understand i can get a work-permit attached to this extension of stay and hopefully be extended based on income ( on excess of 40k). I appreciate everything is a little confused with the Covid situation at the moment but hopefully by July things may be back to 'normal'. I will book an appointment with Vientiane, at a later date.

You need specific forms from labor office completed by your school to canx the wp. Just a letter won't do. Labor will then give you a document for you to go to immigration to canx the visa. You then have 24hrs to leave the country or you can buy a 7 day extension 1900 baht if you need a bit more time.

Hi ...further developments to this post. In order to get a Non B to be a teacher you need a letter from the Ministry of Education. The MOD are refusing to do a letter unless my new teacher has a tourist visa in the passport and not a Non B extension of stay. Therefore my question is this. Can we cancel the exisiting Non B extension of stay and workpermit and get a 30 day tourist visa at Chaeng Wattana or in any immigration on the same day, or will they give 7 days to leave country after cancel or can we not do this in the country?

Thankyou I do understand your notes with regard to changing from 1 non B to another but i think that route will be too difficult for us. Now i am looking for the easiest way to go from Non B to Tourist to Non B hopefully only exiting the country for the new Non B.

Ok. Yes this new teacher is on an extension of stay and good terms with her previous employer who is giving us time to get the paperwork together for the new Non B. However the final piece of paper we need is the letter from the MOD who seem to want to see a tourist visa stamp? We will challenge the MOD on this. As it doesn't seem right as you have indicated.
