Hi. I know when you move schools as a teacher you need to start again with a new Non B visa and work permit. However assuming all the paperwork from the new school is in place can you cancel the existing work permit and visa and go out of the country next day to get a new Non B. Or do you have to cancel and have a tourist visa first and then get the new Non b. MOE Thailand are saying to my school you need a tourist visa for them to issue the paperwork for a new Non B.?
TLDR : Answer Summary
To transition from one Non-B visa and work permit to another without switching first to a tourist visa, the general consensus among community members is that it is possible under certain conditions. If you have an existing extension of stay, it must be canceled when you stop working. Some suggest you can apply for a new extension of stay from the new employer on the same day you cancel the previous one, provided you have the necessary documentation from both employers. However, obtaining a letter from the Ministry of Education often requires having a tourist visa instead, making it a bit complicated as some members suggest that exiting the country to obtain a new Non-B might be necessary. Ultimately, the process can vary depending on individual circumstances and the relationships with the current and new employers.
