I got a letter from the British Embassy specifically asking for a Non O. I am a long term resident but my retirement age fell this year that I know required me to border bounce to get the Non O or even come back on a tourist visa and they can convert from that to a Non O. However got back from Immigration today and all they gave me was 30 days which starts 26th September and told to leave the country after this expires. Offering little flexibility at all. In a time when Thailand is crying out for tourists they are even kicking out long term residents. BTW my last visa was Thailand Elite. Not exactly cheap. It makes no sense to me

some British Nationals live in other countries such as Malaysia and Singapore so will mainly apply to them in addition to those who currently reside on Thailand.

yes I don't think they will however that may depend on how many they believe to be left in the country.

I am going tomorrow. My immigration office have known me a long time and stated if I get the letter they will grant me a 30 day extension and off the back of that allow me to apply for my Non O. My previous visa was a 5 year privilege entry visa.

I am off to immigration tomorrow to see as I now have the embassy letter arrive today. Although I was never on a tourist visa but

is correct some office's apply to rules differently. Thankfully our office has known me a long time and stated if I get the letter they will allow the in country conversion to a Non O.

so if you meet the requirements there is no reason they can't give you a year extension. If you don't then you have to leave before it expires.

@Paul ******
but what is the reason of the extension. If it's say retirement if you meet the criteria then you are able to get another year.
