In your case I would "transliterate" what is written in the passport. In general the rule is that you write exactly what is written in that field.
However in another thread "someone" (not the affected person) mentioned that "someone else" got rejected when he wrote his city name. And that he was suppsoed to simply write the land of origin. However: that is just someone who wrote something about someone else ...
THen we do not understand your question. As an EU citizen you most likely do not need a visa ... and we do not understand what happend, what is "lost my tkt?" - did you get denied entry? Or did the airline not like to fly you?
