As mentioned by many other people, the first and major risk right now is related to immigration (lack of visa, illegal stay) and the consequences.

I would URGENTLY make an appointment with the French embassy for lost passport AND also explain to them the whole situation (scaming agent, expired visa, etc) to see what they suggest to you first, before making any move towards the Thai authorities.

But the fact that you have let it go that long without really taking this seriously enough makes your case look dodgy (like if you're not telling the whole truth) or makes you look lazy, naive, stupid, careless.

Your current passport is probably lost anyway (or sold)

I don't think that the covid/pandemic situation has changed how it works :

* 30 days with visa exemption at entry in the country

* 30 days extension once in the country

* 7 days extension (discretionary) after the first one

Mmm if you don't want to wait for better/clearer information about possible direct flights from Thailand to France after July 1st, then yes that might do the trick to start planning now...

These are not official sources but coming from a visa agency

1.

Flights from Iceland to France should be allowed already from June 15 (as flight from EU to Iceland).

2. Without much details given, it reports that one American (coming from EU) was not allowed to enter Iceland.

French national here...

I believe that the answer of the French consulate is also based on the fact that despite all the announcements made here and there about international flights to EU for non EU citizens, it is STILL a day by day situation and not all the rules/criteria and such are fixed for sure...

I know that after already so many months being stuck or unsure it sucks to still not being able to know what to do, when to travel, in which conditions, etc.

But I would suggest as the consulate to wait and see...

Too soon now to make a real concrete plan even if July is just 2 weeks ahead.

Oh man....
@Jesse ********
, you have exhausted me already with your drama!

I am usually a reader not a commenter...

Some people have the right to think different than you and to not always believe that what meets the eyes first is the truth and the whole truth...

You might always want to give the benefit of the doubt to people finding themselves in harsh situations and some other people are allowed to think that sometimes there is more to the story than what is being reported, explained, shown through the "victim's" report.

As it's been already said to you, you don't like it then leave or block those you don't want to see anymore...

Like me, blocking you straight away right after this post just for being who you are and I just don't want to be bothered anymore with your posts or comments...

And I do not even give a flying F..K that you read my post or not...

I just wrote it to let it out, is all 😉😉😉

If I am not mistaken, as a tourist (aka without proper retirement/spouse/student/working/Elite visa), you are not allowed to spend more than 180 days in Thailand within a full calendar year.

In addition you are not allowed more than 2 land crossing per year and even though such limit doesn't apply to entering the country by air, they do check how many times you do that (and what frequency)...

Considering what you describe on your arrival in DM airport, I would say you were already out of the rules and could/should have been denied entry...

But as it was the middle of the night and quiet and maybe with a smile, they decided that after showing them a few elements that you're not a begpackers and a little gift on the side, they chose to let you.

The law says it is at the discretion of the IO anyway.

So no one will be able to give you a 100% sure answer about will you be able to do your 2nd border run at the end of your exemption as it will depends 100% of the IO facing you on that specific day.

I would even say that going to your local immigration office hoping to apply for the the 30 days EXTENSION, you might be given just 7 days with a "get out of here" order.
