yeah agreed. made no sense at all. If you were poor/middle income then that sum of money was unjustifiable (better to bounce out the country / ed / tourist visas); if you were rich then better to go the path of setting up business/corporate visas with shell companies etc. No idea who'd be dumb enough to actually pay it

Imagine if you'd just forked out the 20k USD or whatever it was they were wanting for an elite visa last year and now this

Rates are absolute dog shit compared to what you get with Wise

@Brown *******
what, they weighed it, it was 8.5, and they just waved you through?

loads of people here saying this same thing... There is never the option to pay for additional or overweight hand luggage. The only option is to pay for more hold bags-- which is useless if the problem is that you've already stuffed all your bags and your carry on is 11kg rather than 7kg...

thank you, both. I didn't know the 7 days starts from the date application. Very good to know, thanks. A border bounce isn't free of course; it's more expensive than an extension, and a world more hassle-- but sounds like the better, or only, option in this case then. Thanks.

hey Tod. I'm currently on an extended 30 days, which takes me to the 26th. I understand that you can apply for another 7 days on top of that, which would take me to the 2nd (when I will book a flight out of the country). Is that feasible/advisable in your view? Or is it better to just bounce out and get another 30 days? Thanks.
