US Passport and here on 30 day Visa Exempt Entry. Do I have any other tourist visa extension options here in Thailand other than just extending for another 30 days? Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
As a US passport holder entering Thailand on a 30-day Visa Exempt Entry, your only option for extending your stay is one additional 30-day extension available at an immigration office for 1,900 baht. After that, you'll need to exit the country and can either do a border run to re-enter for another 30 days or apply for a tourist visa through a Thai consulate in a nearby country, allowing for a longer stay.

No that’s it

You’re option is to do the 30 day extension, then either do a border run or a quick 24 trip to another country by air and then do the same process again. 120 days.

As Tod said...you can do a maximum of 2 LAND BORDER entries into Thailand EACH CALENDAR YEAR. AND Each entry allows you to get one 30 day extension of stay at your local Thai Immigration office for 1900 Thai baht.
Make sure whenever you apply for a 30 day extension of stay , you have a TM30 address registration on file with Thai Immigration.

unless you're married to a thai or have half thai children, you do NOT
You're allowed ONE 30 day extension on a 30 day visa exempt entry for 1900baht at the immigration office where you stay, then you're done
If you want more time in thailand you either exit/re-enter to get a new 30 day visa exempt entry (which you can do 2 times a year by land) OR you go to a thai consulate in a nearby country and buy a tourist visa that stamps you in for 60 days when you arrive
hey Tod. I'm currently on an extended 30 days, which takes me to the 26th. I understand that you can apply for another 7 days on top of that, which would take me to the 2nd (when I will book a flight out of the country). Is that feasible/advisable in your view? Or is it better to just bounce out and get another 30 days? Thanks.
you can't just go buy a tourist visa. You apply for it, if approved you'll get it. Also getting a tourist visa doesn't mean that immigration will approve it when you come to thailand.
, As Tod said, that "up to" 7 days stamp usually starts on the day of your application, not being added. So even if you get the 'full length' of that stamp, you cannot stay until 2nd Jan without overstaying at least one day.
that 7 days isn't an extension, it's an "application for extension not approved" and gives you 7 days from the date you apply to get out of thailand and it's the same price 1900baht as all extensions.
I'd say unless you have to use it just bounce out and back to get a new free 30 day entry stamp
thank you, both. I didn't know the 7 days starts from the date application. Very good to know, thanks. A border bounce isn't free of course; it's more expensive than an extension, and a world more hassle-- but sounds like the better, or only, option in this case then. Thanks.
