I recently had to go into branch to have facial recognition put on my account but I CAN transfer over 50k a day AND in a single transaction . So not sure why I can do this with KBank and others can’t . And it’s recent because I made a transfer just last night
I get it . I understand . However you are effectively giving the property to her and her family . Supposing you all fall out in one years time … it’s possible . Then you will be 73 . Bit tricky then isn’t it ?
No wonder Thailand is such a rich country with a super strong currency , it’s packed with foreigners desperate to bring huge sums in to give to their people one day .
You have to admit it’s a bonkers system . Still it’s your choice , you’re not alone in doing this
so if it’s all watertight then why are you asking ? Also what happens if you want to move ( you never know the future ) . Easy to sell … no of course is the answer . But maybe that still works for you . Thailand makes people do strange things . And after 30 years is it worthless as the lease is finished so it presumably goes back to her ?
Why oh why do otherwise sane people keep getting themselves into this situation . You already know buying property in Thailand is a disaster waiting to happen ( if you break up you will have no rights in practice , forget the theory ) yet you will still plough ahead with it .
Why do you want to buy ? Why not rent at least at the start ? Gives you more freedom as you don’t yet know where you want to stay . Rent for a year to see if you like the area
I’m sure you are right . Personally I don’t care who comes in or for how long , doesn’t bother me why would it . ? Immigration see it differently of course
WHO allows tourists to rent condos ? Not immigration is it , they don’t get involved . Almost all condos are rented on a 1 year term so the people you are talking about are using Airbnb to rent on their “ tourist” visas , which incidentally is regarded as illegal now in Thailand . But don’t let facts get in your way . I am not championing Thailand at all , I’m just saying look at it from immigrations point of view .So called “tourists” doing back to back visa runs are not tourists they are attempting to stay long term without getting the right visa . I’m just saying , that is how immigration , rightly , will view it
