I have a similar problem with Vietnam after I had the same problem with Thailand. The solution for Vietnam was to get a file size reducing application by searching "photo compressor" in the Android app store. The picture I took was against a white background and the photo compressor made an extra copy of the "passport picture" which I uploaded to the visa website.

agreed. Set up bank account in Thailand now to be fully funded say 90 days before I come back to Thailand with a 60 day visa issued from a US Thai consulate online before my arrival.

Tod Daniel Wow, thank you Tod. Yes I am now in Chiang Mai and will be here until August 25 when my extension of my original 30 day tourist visa expires. After a few days in Malaysia, I will return to Thailand by land to the area around Surat Thanni for a few weeks before returning to the US September 25.

No Thai bank account yet.

I have extended my 30 day tourist visa by another 30 days at the Central Festival Thai Visa office which now expires August 25.
