I'm with you on that one. Nothing shits me more than reading about Tik-Tok "stars". It's all bs. And about 80% of the YouTube Thailand videos are poor information and poor production, but people are sucked in by them. Anyway, we'll see what dirt comes out in the wash

I think the DTV will encourage every Tom Dick and Harry to apply for long term residence. The conditions are so loose it's unbelievable. But you've only got to look through Facebook profiles to see how many "digital creators" and "content creators" there are, and the number of Tik-Tok "stars" has blown sky high. The government will be raking in 10,000 baht per application from tens of thousands of Tik-Tok, YouTube and OnlyFans "stars" all of whom can illustrate a certain standard of "working online". Thai government now only sees money. Retirees and those married to Thais will be jumping onto this "remote working" lark. In the past we've had examples of expats being warned against "working" in Thailand, such as helping a neighbour paint his house, or helping the in-laws with their rice harvest, so the Thailand definition of "working" is pretty comprehensive, so most people will easily qualify as "digital creators". The DTV has changed the landscape that's for sure

So one moment you're saying you don't need an immigration office because you're retired, the next you're saying you use an immigration office 10 times every year? Hmmmm. Something about the DTV has you rattled. The DTV is most certainly affordable to me as is the LTR, but why on earth would I pay 50,000 when I can pay 14,000? That obviously makes some sense to you, but certainly not to me!

OK. So you're one of those who never leave Thailand. That explains a lot. You're looking at the DTV from a different perspective. Obviously it wouldn't suit you, and that's fine. It's very much a visa for certain travel habits.

Not if border bouncing. It's multi-entry. A border bounce doesn't require a visit to an immigration office. I thought you'd have known that.

Haha! You're way out. Most of those using agents don't have the money. These threads are full of them. But it's all irrelevant. The DTV makes all of this crap redundant. I use the 65k transfer method and extensions take less than an hour with zero queuing. Perhaps you used a different immigration office? But it's history now. The DTV no requirement to have money in Thailand and no requirement to visit immigration. It's a beauty

The twats that use visa agents don't have 800k to their name! They're the losers in Thailand. Sydney Consulate confirmed extensions are 1900 baht, but that won't affect me as I'll be bouncing in and out over the five years. It suits people like me who are frequent travellers. Perhaps those who just want to stay full-time in Thailand the LTR or OX might be better. Everybody has a different situation.

Extensions are 1900 baht, border bounces are free. is 2920 baht per year. I know brain-dead twats who pay visa agents 20,000 baht per year! 😂
