please update your feelings next week when your bank app locks you out again this time seemingly needing you to take a MRT to your wireless carrier shop for a picture moment yet locks again next day apparently with no reason. So far I had 2 bank trips and one wireless carrier trip, I have 2 app lock and 1 daily limit restriction experience. I am speaking from the visa fee revenue perspective only ! Those who stay 12 months visa exempt pays more visa fee than non-O or DTV or LTR visa holders. I have LTR-P, I know the requirements, I am not saying it is easy to qualify for LTR. All I say is visa exempt travelers pay their share of hefty fees to spend a year in Thailand. More than most other visas.
Everyone is telling get a tourist visa. 10 year wealthy LTR costs 5000 baht a year. Someone staying visa exempt for 1 year in Thailand needs 4 times 1900 extension fee. That is already 7,600 THB a year visa fee. They keep asking people to get a visa, if someone obtains 6 month MTV visa and spend 9 months in Thailand with an extension then they pay much less for the fees than a visa exempt individual. Where is the logic for asking visa, it does not increase the visa fee revenues. Am I missing something here ?
it seems like this is a new era in banking and wireless regulations, no foreigner is spared. Please update us a few weeks later, that would be interesting if some foreigners never have this issue.
but some who went through this had their app re-locked again. It seems like their system has major glitches. Multiple wireless carrier or bank criteria could trigger an app lock. Their system is still in beta testing
next in line is the agent-mediated evasion of 800,000 THB bank deposit immigration rule for the non-O retirement visa. I wonder why that is not subject to a any meaningful clampdown so far ! How many agents will be pushed out of business by such a clampdown
