When I returned from the United States they x-rayed all of my suitcases. They did not x-ray all of the Thai people. Only me as a foreigner. There was a new rule that went into effect October 1st of 2019. It stated that they were going to check an x-ray Foreigner bags. Thai government stated that foreigners were bringing in who many new items over 20,000 Baht and they were wanting them to pay import and/or vat tax

I applied and got mine the first month of my retirement extension. No problems
