I stay in Mukdahan iam from Uk if your on a tourist visa just go in to immigration on Thia side at the bridge pay 1900 baht they stamp you another days no problem.

you will get a 500 baht fine for everyday and could be marked as overstay . Pay 1.900 baht for extension so you’ve paid 900 extra and kept a clean sheet would be my advice.
