it did for me and other people too. Many language schools will tell you the same information.

this goes for the airport, but at the immigration office they literally only look at what’s in front of them. I went there to cancel my old Ed visa because I wanted to change language schools. They told me no visa was attached to my new passport, so I got a completely new one.

If you have a new passport, you can do the whole thing all over again. Otherwise, lots of schools offer you to sign up for a language other than Thai but still let you attend Thai classes.
