Most asean countries struggle with increasing government cost and when local people no longer has money to support it someone else has to pay.

My advice is, don't try to be a thai , you will never qualifiy even with thai passport.

There are 2 shops that provides copies at groundfloor close to foodcourt. They also take photos. Groundfloor also have several banks and ATM's. Immigration do not accept creditcard , QR or other similar types of transfers, it's cash based.

to formally volunteer for a longer period in Thailand, you must apply for a Non-Immigrant O Volunteer Visa.

I was on a business visa before I retired so for me no need to apply non-immigrant but I had to deposit 800K 3 month prio in my thai bank.

I see, we all have different circumstances. For me 1 year O-Visa works well. I deposit 800K every mid of sept and then use it up from Jan to sept and then new depo.
