Apparently the U.K. embassy is not issuing letters anymore so hopefully this will help in securing 60 days. If you email them you get an auto response saying ‘no letters being given as they are not needed’.
When I got my November 30 stamp at Surat immigration they offered to give me an additional 15 Dec stamp under consideration which i turned down at the time as I didn’t know where I would be, but I think I’ll just go back there and take up that option if it’s still ok to do.
All these links are pre October 31st and not really relevant to what he was asking. I’m also interested to know what’s happening re:60 day extensions post-amnesty. Hopefully you guys will leave open for comments.
Phangan today gave a 25 October return date under consideration stamp. So whatever happens now I need to go Surat/Samui immigration on

? Not before? And my extension is under consideration for what will be about 6 weeks and approved (most likely/hopefully) for 1 day? Can I leave the country without closing the loop? Is it possible to just go back to immigration after a few days/week to get the loop closed?
