Has anyone successfully applied for the 60 day covid extension in Koh Samui? If so, what was required? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation centers around obtaining a 60-day COVID extension in Koh Samui, with respondents sharing varied experiences and advice. It's recommended to directly visit the local immigration office, as each office may have different procedures regarding COVID-related extensions. Previous links and resources provided may not be current, especially post-amnesty, and individuals are encouraged to seek updated information via local Facebook groups or by contacting immigration offices directly.

Apparently the U.K. embassy is not issuing letters anymore so hopefully this will help in securing 60 days. If you email them you get an auto response saying ‘no letters being given as they are not needed’.
When I got my November 30 stamp at Surat immigration they offered to give me an additional 15 Dec stamp under consideration which i turned down at the time as I didn’t know where I would be, but I think I’ll just go back there and take up that option if it’s still ok to do.
I beg to differ, those people down on the "Island of Misfit Toyz" (aka Koh Phangan or any of those southern islands really) seem pretty dialed in to where they need to go and what they get when they go to Samui OR Surat Thani Immigrations.
I've been meaning to ask you about that. I hear you bring up that option frequently but I've never heard of such a group. Is there a Facebook group relating to the southern islands that you know about that I could try? Thanks
I will try. Hopefully 1 has information pertaining to visas.

All these links are pre October 31st and not really relevant to what he was asking. I’m also interested to know what’s happening re:60 day extensions post-amnesty. Hopefully you guys will leave open for comments.
what's happening is with 70+ immigration offices in the country each office is winging it and doing their own thing.
Bangkok was doing 14 day under consideration stamps then when you went back you got the 60 day stamp
Chiang Mai WAS issuing straight 30 day extension (but reports now are they are issuing straight 60 day extensions)
Who knows what the immigration offices in the south that deal with those people on the Island of Misfit Toyz are doing..
It's a total crap shoot which is why once people post their experience we usually close threads.. Just because someone got their extension from an office in Nakhon Nowhere doesn't mean that you will too going to another immigration office :/
Thanks for your help James. The 1 post is pretty recent but the other ones are older though and they might be doing things differently now, as I've heard anyway. Hopefully some other posters can post some recent success stories from there to get a better understanding of what is happening there currently. Thanks again.

Its best you visit immigration and ask.
Not all offices are doing the same with COVID extensions.
