thx. Running $30k CAD to 50k scenarios thru a Canadian income tax calculator, our rates are 11+% to 15+. $50k USD is 70kCAD works out to 18%, much higher than the o.p. and most retirees here I think. Our Canadian rates are higher than thai in all the above scenarios but saw in another thread only fed portion used??? If I strip out the part the fed forwards to the province, that reduces above rates by a third, on par or slightly less than thai rates.
I did a Ranong border bounce 2019. Tourist visa. Just brought my passport and wallet. Over and back, all done in an hour or 2. Why do you need proof of covid and residence?? I understand about it being more strict re return flight now.
I did many tourist Visas (though have not done since precovid) and never had to show anything other than the initial itinerary going into Thailand sent with the visa application form. I've heard of people getting hassled for proof of onward travel but never experienced that.
Tourist visa good for 9 months, with border runs every 3 months. Plus ed Visa as others mentioned. Do that for a few years and if you eventually get married here, could get a marriage Visa with 400k baht
