I don't like dull. Singapore sounded like a really modern and infrastructure oriented place and no crime. Even better than Thailand.

this is exactly what I have been reading. Original choice was the the Phils, but people were going overboard on how dangerous it is, and I'm not as worried as much about that as I am getting into a fight over it and then it gets much worse.

Heard good things about DaNang, except for the language barrier.

Singapore sounds awesome, but yes on the costs.

Do you have a preference overall.

Is the crime as bad as it seems to be in the Phils to make it a pass?

As far as accommodations, I'm paying $2000 baht/ night in Thailand, that should be in the ballpark for other countries also?
