when Jack said MOST banks require 2 forms of photo ID, you're the one who keeps insisting that he was wrong. You insisted they don't require that at all in Thailand, and that another ID from home country would never be accepted for anything here. Dude, stop making a fool of yourself.
you're one person, dude. You're not multiple people and you're not the official guidelines/requirements. You're not the arbiter of truth. Learn to read and listen.
it's not an American thing. I'm not American and had to show two IDs as well. It's written in the list of required docs. But as with anything here, it might be inconsistently applied, and you got lucky. It's not the norm to not require 2 IDs.
you're wrong, the other guy is right. When people open bank accounts, the banks here accept any photo ID as the 2nd ID: driving license from home, national ID from home, even a school ID from a school in Thailand is also accepted. Stop clowning.
I don't have the official data for those specific cases, but personally, 100% of those like that I know got their visas easily. The only rejection stories I hear of are from people online. I suppose people are more likely to share rejections online. If the only thing someone has going for them is an American bf, then sure, but my friends have many other things to show in their applications. All speak fluent English, maybe that helps too.
