I've had same problem numbness in my left pinky and ring finger a few years ago now getting same for the right side ..: I just go on .. doctor suggested surgery as well but said its not 100% cure , it might come back later also ... it's a factor of getting older ... the pain is not pain ... just numbness , irritating but better than being cut open and the cortisone injections didn't work well and needing to repair and repeat a few years down the road again ... I use a handheld thumping massage machine to relax the muscles... sort of helps ... no surgeries for me .. just my take ... I just don't want to be put under/knocked out ... lots of things can go wrong when you're put under ..

Stay at any 5 star beach front hotel .. not that expensive especially weekdays

fly to BKK try to book a nice riverfront hotel .. you'll love it... Phuket is a big tourist mess now ... if you're not crazy middle aged alcoholic ... I would stay away ... even the nice island tours are packed with Chinese tourist ... but if you're gonna just stay in at beachfront hotels then I guess it's ok ...

If you're not into "red light " party life then spend a couple day at a nice hotel my the Choa Phraya River in BKK ... if you're going soon I would totally skip Phuket and go to Jomtien/Rayong area and take a boat to the nearby islands ... Phuket is overpacked everywhere, going Phi Phi island is crowded and probably not worth it ...save your money and spend it on a nice 5 star hotel in Hua Hin instead ... watch out for effing expat 'falang"

Go to BKK first spend a few days at nicer hotels , check out the river lifestyle both opulent and old style, then try Hua Hin ...nice quiet beaches ... maybe book a boat trip to some islands ... Chieng Mai is nice but soon will be "" smoke season "" so maybe not this trip ...
