Did it in Chiang Mai a couple months ago (I have a Namibian passport), so I think you'll be fine!

Oh and yeah I did have experience with this, but I was doing a non b in Thailand that's why I think!

The SA embassy in BKK doesn't authenticate anything, you'd have to send it to Pretoria to do it 🙈 but my understanding is that you only need your documents verified if you're doing a non b within Thailand, if you're going to Laos you should be chilled 👌🏾

Thank you Christine and Tod! Really appreciate the advice. My current tourist visa expires on the 26th so I'm thinking of doing an extension before the end of the week, and then attempting a non b straight after that (fingers crossed)!
