Hey guys! Does anyone have any experience with doing a Non B visa in Chiang Mai? I'm keen to find out if it is possible to do one without leaving the country! A few people have mentioned that it's harder to get one in Thailand, but I can't imagine if that's true for my case seeing as I can't do one in Laos and I'd have to go home to do one (I have a Namibian passport)? I'd appreciate any advice, thanks guys!

Answer summary

The user is inquiring about the possibility of obtaining a Non B visa in Chiang Mai without needing to leave Thailand. They have heard conflicting information about the difficulty of obtaining this visa in Thailand, especially given their Namibian passport and the complications involved if they have to travel home or to Laos for the application. Some users share their experiences and emphasize that it is primarily up to the employer to supply necessary paperwork for the immigration process.

Hey Tanga! Cool to see you are in Thailand too. I got my non B in Bangkok without leaving the country 😊 I arrived on a transit visa and I'm on a South African passport

The only one who can help you with this is your employer. He has to provide all the paperwork for Immigration.

CM does process Non B visa, but it all depends on your employer. They should provide all the paperwork to do it. It is more papers than going abroad, so a "little" bit more work for the employer to do it inside Thailand.

Thanks Robert! I'll ask my employer what she thinks, thought I'd just find out whether CM's immigration office actually processes non B visas before I ask
