Chris York okay. Best of luck with the conversion and re-application. I don't think you will have anything to worry about.

will your immigration office do a combination method? e.g. 10 monthly transfers plus 2 months cash in the bank?

How much longer do you want to stay? If it is less than 90 days you can go to a neighbouring country and get a 60-day tourist visa.

This can then be extended for 30 days.

for single entry visas yes. For the METV I don't know. It may be possible to use your flight back to the UK.

I suggest you contact the embassy. They are pretty helpful.

If necessary book a ticket to another country (bus or train may be acceptable) or contact the embassy and ask them. They will tell you what they will accept.

Your outgoing ticket can be to anywhere.

Is there any reason not to just use your return ticket for the end of your trip?

One of the purposes of the METV is to travel around the region while entering Thailand multiple times.

Robert Lagas I understood it to mean that she entered Thailand with her current passport but since it was relatively new they wanted to see her old passport too.

It's common practice to carry both the old and new passports for a while after a changeover.

I think they suspect that she has a substantial history staying in Thailand but they cannot see it at the embassy without looking at her old passport.
