You can get usufruct on the land, and you are allowed to own the house itself.

I think it will take less of your time to get the updated documents than the time it takes to do a border run.

If you are planning to visit another country just at that exact moment it is a different story of course.

You never know what will happen, banks can change rules and checks when they want.

When you don't want to take risks loosing your account, you should not change to a tourist type visa, but I don't understand why people really NEED a Thai bank account.
