Has anyone recently extended their DTV at Pattaya Immigration? My first 6 months expire at the beginning of October and I’d like to know which documents are required for the extension.
Please don’t suggest leaving the country, if it’s really impossible to extend, I’ll take a short trip abroad, but otherwise I’d prefer to extend.
Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on extending their DTV visa at Pattaya Immigration before it expires in October and asks about required documents. Community comments suggest that generally, you need the same documents as when you first applied, updated as necessary. There are mixed opinions, with some suggesting that it's advisable to leave Thailand and return for a new entry stamp instead of attempting to extend, as it might be easier and avoid complications.
Just to for a weekend break to Luang Prabang or city break in HCMC, so enjoyable, who wants to mess around with paperwork and immigration offices ffs! Sadly many cheap Charlie's who won't spend to go on a short break though, so come back home through immigration in minutes with another 6 months job done.. Keep life simple! 💯👌
definitely go early. i mean in the next week. otherwise you could quickly run out of time when you need multiple trips to the office to get all documents ready. i needed 3 trips in Krabi to extend my dtv in january
From other posts it appears you need all the same documentation as when you applied but it needs to be updated and whatever else your immigration office asks for which apparently can be anything they want
You can only extend once per entry, next time you will have to leave Thailand and re enter, the immigration officers themselves advice to leave and re enter to get fresh stamp
And what will they tell you at immigration, stay without leaving and who will put a stamp on you for another 180 days? It clearly states that you can stay continuously for 180 days in Thailand, then you must leave Thailand.
You need at least the exact same documentation you has when you applied. So if that was for muay thai for example, you need to show courses for another 6 months. It’s much less hazzle to take a flight somewhere and return the same day.
My understanding is you need at least all the same documents you originally applied with, but updated. Please let me know if there’s something else they ask for when you go in. The last time I went to phuket immigration they were quite helpful but I wasn’t on DTV at that time
