Depends which border. Nong Khai - Vientiane is ok, but several borderpoint demands one or two nights out for foreigner’s bouncing on their own now. Easier to go to your local immigration and apply for a 30 days extension. Bring passport with copy of ID-page and last stamps, a pass photo, receipt of your TM.30 if asked for, you apply on a TM.7 form at the immigration and pay 1900 baht in cash.
Ok thanks for your reply. All embassies/consulate goes online now. I don’t have a complete overview but I know HMCH Vietnam is known to be easy.
Personally I would have considered to use a land border transport company to bounce me for a 60 days visa exemption if you’re entitled and applied for a Non O through an agent because of your previous history. I mean by the rules and no bypass of formal requirements, only as a help with the process.
There are always someone who don't like it when others have better knowledge than themselves. Relax, it’s just a well known primitive reaction of the human race.
This was all you could contribute with. Not everyone is aware of this option, so in several cases an important piece of information that many have been happy to receive.
Where du you currently stay? Just want to check out the requirements at the embassy that serves you.
This is two alternative separate options or requirements to qualify for a one year Non O-A so it should work very well that one provides documentation of income a the other one funds.
If you want to stay for a year you can apply for a one year Non O-A visa at home with proof of income/pension equal to 65K baht a month or funds equal to 800K baht.
For the Non O-A visa you’ll need a mandatory health insurance covering minimum 100K USD, a health certificate and a police check up as well.
Most convenient to apply for a 90 days initial Non O visa online through the embassy/consulate that serves your current location now. You can apply only with income/pension if you fulfill the required 65K baht a month OR funds equal to 800K baht. I don’t know your nationality, but you have a typical German, Austrian or Swiss name. If that do correspond with your passport remember you can apply for the one year extension of stay in Thailand only with a affidavit letter from your embassy in Bangkok (or consulate) confirming your income equal to minimum 65K baht a month. You therefore don’t need to prove any funds in a Thaibank now or in the future.
