I got my non o visa based on marriage on the thai e-visa website via London UK.
I’m so very happy about this and also grateful from all the feedback I have had from you all to help me.
Thank you to you all.
My visa says it’s valid from July 13th to October 10th 2025.
And it’s got me thinking.
I planned to return on September 25th 2025 at the end of my season for several months.
However I thinking of a quick trip earlier as I’ve mentioned in my previous posts I work in the tourism industry which is very slow in the UK with sales down this year.
Hence I have no work from July 30th to August 17th 2025.
And I have already booked flights to return at the end of the season to enter Thailand on September 25th 2025 to stay for 6-7 months.
Can I do the following as I don’t want to wait in London without work for 17 days from July 31st to mid August & I’d rather be with my wife.
Fly to Thailand entering on July 31st 2025 for 2 weeks of August.
Apply for my visa extension in those first 2 weeks of August.
Then fly back to the UK to work with a reentry permit.
And return to Thailand entering on September 25th 2025 for my long stay.
When do I have to season the 400,000baht in a thai bank account?
(I already have an SCB bank account now)
Is it on the day I plan to I arrive back August 31st?
Or should it be before that in my case?
Also an extra question after I arrive back on September 25th 2025 can I use another re-entry permit to visit my mother who has been unwell in Australia in mid October as it is her and my birthday then?
Is any of this possible?
Thank you so much 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user recently obtained a Non-O visa based on marriage and has plans to return to Thailand, but seeks clarification on the visa extension process, including timing for depositing funds in a Thai bank account. They also inquire about travel logistics between the UK and Thailand, specifically regarding applying for a re-entry permit and a visa extension. Community responses highlight requirements like having 400,000 baht in the bank for two months prior to applying for an extension, the importance of timing for applying for an extension, and potential immigration visits during the extension consideration period.

Hi quick question if anyone can answer the non immigrant O visa for retirement also csn be obtained through online process without the need to visit embassy?
Your 90 non-O visa does not activate until you enter the country, and this has to be done before 10th Oct 2025. You can also apply for a 60-day extension based on visiting your wife without providing any financial proof. You can also request a 12-month extension, which has to be done within the last 30 days of your initial stay. For this, you need 400k baht in a Thai bank account in your name, and the funds must come from outside of Thailand. Once you have applied for this, you will get an under consideration stamp in your passport. This is usually for 30 days, but can be 60. During this consideration period, you can purchase a re-entry permit, allowing you to leave Thailand and return without obtaining another visa.
I need join .. may be I am wrong.. they given you date of issue and expired.. so I guess you need to travel between that so when you reach there .. the date you enter from than onwards, Time you can stay there. What i am thinking , Rest more expert's are there to answer right.
Come in on your 90 day Non-O visa, open a bank account and put the 400k baht you'll need for an extension of stay in there as soon as you can. The funds need to be in there for 2 full months before you can apply for the extension. Then go to your local immigration office and apply for a re-entry permit (you can also get one at the airport) which will allow you to return keeping your current stamp 90 day stamp alive. Once that stamp is down to the last 30 days AND you're funds have been seasoned for 2 months go to immigration and apply for a 12 months extension of stay
For your short trip could you not just come on the 30 day entry. or is it that immigration HAVE to use the visa in the passport? Hopefully some group experts know.
You also need to bear in mind that when you apply for said extension you will get an 'under consideration' stamp in your passport.. you will have to return 1-month later to get the full 12-month stamp.. which is in effect the extra 11-months of the full year.. during this under consideration period you need to be available at your home in Thailand.. because immigration undertake routine home visits to verify your information and satisfy themselves that you really do live there with your wife.. to the extent of getting you to invite neighbours into your home to 'vouch' for this reality.. it doesn't occur in every single case and you have no way of knowing if immigration will select you for a visit until you get a phone call.. however, it is usually limited to first time applicants.. meaning in future years it is highly unlikely though not impossible.. so in planning your travel schedule you will need to dance around this.. ideally you should stay in country between filing your extension application and getting the full stamp in your passport.. then I'd advise you to consider purchasing a multi re-entry permit since you clearly need to travel in and out of the country fairly regularly.. and it will save you a lot of time and energy 😉
Your funds need to have been on deposit in a Thai Bank account in your name for 2 months.. that is 2 months before the date of your application for the 'extension of stay' based on marriage.. so you need to work out the logistics depending upon your intent to file said application 😉
