except be aware and count your days correctly as i believe the boats from Langkawi to Thailand stop on June 18th this year and don't start again until mid October.

no problem, you can PM me if you have any other questions. It won't be too crazy to do this during Songkran time - but expect high flight prices & longer lines at the airports & hotels will book up full soon! If you have a METV it might be wise as

says and do an easy border bounce now and save the big trip to Langkawi for another time, especially when your METV runs out and you want to get a SETV from the Penang Embassy. Killing many birds with one stone then...

Immigration on both islands is very easy, quite quick and friendly. Satun immigration via ferry i would assume is the same. Satun immigration to Malaysia mainland is another option - also quick and easy (and then bus down to where you get another boat to Langkawi from Kuala Perlis i believe it's called) but i think it's better just to go via Penang or Thailand side direct by ferry.

Tom Camp you have a few options - Fly CXN direct to HAT YAI. and then take a taxi or mini van to Satun where you can get a direct ferry to Langkawi. OR you can fly CNX direct to HAT YAI, taxi/mini van to PAK BARRA, boat to KO LIPE for a few days and then a direct 1 hr ferry to Langkawi. (Immigration is both on Ko lipe island/ Satun mainland - & at both Langkawi ferry terminal piers) OR you can go backwards and fly directly to Penang, Malaysia from BKK. (or one stop from CNX) and then take a ferry north to Langkawi - spend a few days and re enter thailand via Ko Lipe or Satun.

a bus to Langkawi? Langkawi is an island. Where are you travelling from? I live on Lipe, the island next to Langkawi. There are many boats that go to and from Langkawi - from Lipe, Satun, Penang etc. Let me know which direction you are planning to travel from and I can give you advice on methods of travel and immigration etc.

ugh. I was literally there yesterday. To "register" and they told me over the phone it was essential I physically go to register. How annoying 😕 I guess each staff doesn't know how the system works - not surprising... 😜. Maybe it's just luck of the draw depending on who answers the phone at the immigration desk! Oh well. I wasn't to far away.

You cannot phone to make an appointment. Bumrungrad requires 2 visits. One to make appointment and give them your passport to prepare the documents. And one to get the visa stamped on Saturday. 900 baht fee. Plus 200 baht for photos taken there. It's quick an easy. But does require two in person visits
