So why post about it? You mentioned the people you know and all the issues they had. Did you bitch like a little girl about their issues as well? He had a problem executing his best option to be in Thailand. Are you pissed about his choice, his ability to do so, or that it’s easier for him?

You might be confusing “tourist” as a short term thing. Nothing wrong with being a tourist for a long time, especially when it’s allowed by the inviting nation.

Are you jealous you had less pleasant experiences as someone who decided to live here long term, or just grumpy? Don’t get mad at me. There is not enough information in his post to validate the things you are assuming.

Look, I don’t know you, but the amount of useless, irrelevant comments that happen with some of these questions is astounding. I’m not sure that was you, but save that reply for when someone asks about the cost or best way to travel.

Here, his question was direct and clear. Your reply was irrelevant, and not saying this is your intent, but some people here just want to comment to be seen then there are 50 comments to a question when 1 direct answer would suffice.

Or, if you really want to be helpful, google the answer for him and provide it, but of course that takes more time than a 4 word reply.

Your second contention is also wrong. You can gain tons of valuable info on here, IF the people responding don’t think they are smarter than they actually are.

Good rule of thumb, 90% of people in this group need to use it for receiving advice, rather than providing it.
