Ok thanks, i too use Surfshark but i watch YoutubeTV on my iPad, i will try turning off Location Services on my iPad.. i thought it was odd that YouTube TV showed me a message that i was outside of the US even though i had my VPN on .
Could you expound on this ? Im newly returned to Thailand, and my YouTube TV wont work even with my VPN on.. last time i lived in Thailand I wasn’t a YouTube tv subscriber so haven’t dealt with this before.. when you say ‘turn off location’ do you mean within the VPN or within the YouTube tv settings, and how do you specifically do that ? Thanks .
I get it, everyone is probably too exhausted after their 27 hr flight, as i was, to do anything about it so it continues .. at least i was able to negotiate with him a bit, ha .
yes it’s right next to where the airport taxis are lined up, ground floor, exit 4.. if you order a Grabcar on the app it will then tell you to go to that exact location .. if you decide to take Grabcar from the airport, i hope you have better luck than i did .
Airport taxi driver ignored the ticket i handed him and offered to take me to my hotel, near Suk Rd and Soi 24, for 700 baht.. i said id like to go according to the meter.. then he said ok, but id be responsible for extra tolls and other charges he listed off.. i said then ill go with you for 600 baht, and he agreed.. maybe i got overcharged, but 600 baht was almost exactly the same amount Grabcar was charging, so i was ok with it, and was too tired to argue or to report him .
Yes, i arrived a couple of nights ago.. ordered a Grabcar on the app, but the line at the pickup spot was a total cluster, and the driver was over 15 min away so i just canceled and got an airport taxi instead.. but on the upside, my flight arrived at midnight and there was NO line at Immigration, literally walked right up and breezed through .
ETA nevermind, i re-read and i think what you’re saying is that there will still be bargains/value available in some of the less-popular , lesser known areas of BKK .
If that’s happening in popular parts of CM, then wouldnt the same type of effect happen in BKK (?) Why might it be different ? Im already looking for a place in BKK that’s ‘a little further out’ when i return, since Phrom Phong, Thonglor etc seem a little steep .. but yes i agree that the popular islands will feel the brunt .
Unfortunately i guess I am no different, since I prefer the places with the most options and conveniences, nearer to the BTS, etc.. Guess i need to start looking for more out-of-the-way places in Thailand …
Do y’all think that this will drive up the prices of condo rentals and everything else since it seems to open up the floodgates to people who may have had a hard time staying long term in the Kingdom before this ?
