The budget airlines (air Asia, Nok Air) in order to change for an affordable rate…you have to change to the same departure and arrival city…then…in my experience…it’s about the same price to change the original itinerary even with a “fully refundable or flexible fare”.
you are correct, the ministry of foreign affairs is not immigration, they create the visas that immigration enforces. We will not know for sure until mid October if the holders of the DTV will have to do a 90 day report. It is still, essentially, a tourist visa and according to the 90 day reporting clause, since they are not staying in the country for more than 12 months on a marriage, work or retirement visa, they do not have to report.
They did say in the video that it is a tourist visa.
the DTV stands for Destination Thailand Visa. It is set up for people that are on a workcation or want to learn Thai or Muay Thai…also long term medical treatment. Yes, very new. Only in effect since July.
