this is what i have decided. I mean most of us can do 90 days in Malaysia or Vietnam per entry for a "holiday" - makes the rental situation a bit complicated and it can affect your tax residency at home.

then don't do that then 🙂 DTV remote workers should be getting paid into a local account anyway. Also "loans" and "credit" are never treated as income. but again the only answer here should be "seek professional advice for your own situation"

exactly this. the only thing that has "changed" the rev depts internal handling of it. my take: "don't get tax advice from facebook groups. get your own advice from a legal local professional that handles affairs like yours"

yes I am aware of the internal memorandum. it still does not change liability - and certainly not for most DTV holders - but as I said - get your own local professional advice.

what to "do regarding Thai tax laws"? seek your own local advice from a legal Thai based adviser about your own circumstances. and the same for any other place you reside, do business or earn money.

it has not. nothing has been implemented in law and is unlikely to be. there have been several "suggestions" and numerous vaguely worded new paper articles. anyway. guess i'll leave it to people to get their own local advice for their affairs. just annoying to see this sort of stuff posted as fact.

so did the legislation actually get implemented? as of 4-5 weeks ago it had not and this was all just FUD. where is this screenshot taken from?

get an employment contract that clearly states “fully remote” or “work from home”

add some pay slips for the amount you draw

put some money in an account and get a balance certificate

that should be enough

no way you need an agent for that
