in regards to the mail in reporting. Do you send this in way that you have evidence it was mailed in? Just wondering how it would work if they said it wasn’t received, or not received on time.

No didn’t ask for it to be notarized. Provided 6 months of statements including transactions. If you don’t have a statement for October I would suggest printing out a screenshot of current balance to date and bring with you just in case.

Yes you can and should apply directly. Consulate website states timeline of processing. For me it was drop off application and info Monday morning, and pickup Wednesday afternoon.

I had no issues in Laos at all. What I stated was exactly the reality. Are there other places better? Not sure, I only have my experience to share.

Just go to Laos

and apply yourself, 10k for the submittal, cheap tickets to and from, hotels are cheap. All said and done you’re in Laos for 3-4 days.
