John Cat hooray for you. You seem happy you de-skilled and spent money. You can check if they have indemnity insurance in the event of failing in their duties, if you want to. Up to you.

I am not implying I am am better than you. Perhaps your paranoia is kicking in. All I am saying is we are all free to make a choice to boost our skills and all the benefits that brings or de-skill by only learning how to pay a bill, with all the downsides of that. Your other comment about people looking for cheaper options and your use of the label Cheap Charlie should tell you why people probably choose to avoid you too.

unregulated and untrustworthy. They can make mistakes too, then you try and get them to accept any liability when immigration holds you to account for their mistakes. Agents are just corruption by another name. Oh, and the cheapest people go around using the term Cheap Charlies, whilst the best of people do not.

Todd Capron ha ha. Those who use the term Cheap Charlie look the cheapest. A fool and their money are quickly parted. Some use the money they save and the skills they learn to live a better life. Up to you.

Do whatever you can to avoid using an agent.

Go teach yourself DIY and you up-skill.

Go pay an agent and you de-skill
