I was told at immigration that the first time you return you have to report within 24 hours and every time after that within two months

Just went today to ask and it's actually 21 days.

Two questions:

1) If you want to convert a visa exempt entry to non-imm O do you also need 20 days left on your entry? i had read that it was generally 15 days but perhaps they've changed it.

2) And if you use the monthly income option instead of the Thai bank balance do you have to go back when you have 30 days left on the non imm O or can you get the yearly extension right away? Because the money wouldn't require seasoning in that case
