this is where the confusion comes in, you can extend a 30day Visa exempt the day you arrive so there may have been an assumption that the same thing can be done with a Tourist Visa.
the problem is that the rules are not always applied equally, some require a tm.30 some dont, some can apply for an extension more than days before and some cant. It makes it really challenging, I understand
I agree with Robert in the sense that irrespective of budget, it's up to the travellers to adhere to the host conditions regarding extension submission times etc. Just tell you friend to go and check into a cheap hotel for on night and ask for the screenshot of the submission the go and apply for the extension... all problems solved. As for submitting a TM 30 camping... I wouldn't even worry about it
Henrik Highmountain it stays up because it's a forum, not an IM. Info here is for all to see not only the OP. It for all to see to stay up to date with what is going on in Thailand and to stop everyone repeating the same questions over and over... honestly the mods and admins here have patience of saints and dont get half of the respect that they deserve.
There is no official rule that I'm aware of. HOWEVER if you have a history of back to back entries, by land or by air they can deny you entry If they believe you are not a genuine tourist. If this is the case, you should have at least your 3 proofs, 20k baht or equivalent in CASH, proof of onward travel, and proof of hotel booking. I have been questioned myself without any back to back entries.
I can tell you what's required in aus, but as for savannakhet I'm not too sure, I'm sure either Robert lagas or tod Daniels will be able to give them to you In the morning :) but i believe it's pretty straight forward.
no, a single entry is exactly that... one entry.... if you come and go regularly, a one year ME is the way to go for sure, it works out a hell of a lot cheaper, only around 5000b however not all embassies issue them. One of the admin team will confirm I'm sure... savannakhet still.do them, I had mine issued in Australia, really depends on what passport you hold, and where you have access to.
