Hi!

I am seeking an education visa in Bangkok.

I understand that the rules surrounding education visas are stricter. I understand I need to show up for class and actually study.

I am looking for language visa to learn thai. 6 months. My main concern is the school is no longer accredited or legit in the eyes of the government.

Anyone have good recommendations on schools for ED visa. Good price, in Bangkok and most importantly legit, with good reviews, and can get the visa done!

Thanks in advance to all who comment!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is looking for recommendations for accredited language schools in Bangkok that can help them obtain an education (ED) visa for learning Thai. They express concerns about the legitimacy of certain schools and the stricter rules concerning education visas, emphasizing the need to attend classes. Several comments suggest specific language schools, discuss regulations, and inquire further about school recommendations.

I have heard they randomly visits schools to check and gives tests to see if you actually learn anything, I also believe when the ED visa expires you must leave within 7 days and cannot get any other visa type in country, there are agents handling this but like driving licenses they are scams (some)

Yes, it is amazing that a school would require you to attend classes for an Ed Visa. Lol

I'm at Duke now. Workload is intensive. I am in my 3rd month and would say the teaching has been great but the pace is rapid and there is constant testing at the end of each chapter. The longer i am with the school my feeling is it is more about test management rather than language learning. If i skip a day then I will struggle with the chapter test.

You'll be expected to do 15 hours a week classroom study plus I would say the same again on private study. Most people (including myself on the "journey 1" entry level class had a fair amount of thai vocabularly already (estimate 100-200 known words). I don’t have as much free time as I expected.

Visa management and admin however are excellent and they know their stuff. There is a lot of support especially with the first visa application. However there are tests to take and pass to continue with the ED visa. For 6 months of study you will certainly need to pass the MOE test after 3 months.
