TLDR : Answer Summary
The border at Kanchanaburi (Phu Nam Ron/Htee Kee) is currently closed for foreign passport holders, including Laos citizens, due to post-COVID restrictions. The only operational border for re-entry is at Kawthoung, accessible by boat from Ranong. Other crossings like Mae Sot/Myawaddy and Mae Sai/Tachileik are also closed for foreigners.

The border with Burma in Kanchanaburi (Phu Nam Ron/Htee Kee) never did reopen after the covid lock down.

In fact right now the only burma border that's open for people to bounce at is Kawthoung that you get to by boat from the Ranong pier. Both Mae Sot/Myawaddy and Mae Sai/Tachileik are closed.

NOTE; the borders are open for locals but they won't let foreigners bounce out and back (and Laotians don't count as locals ๐Ÿ˜• )
