Has anybody done a 30 day on arrival border crossing from leaving from Bangkok to the Kanchanaburi/ Phu Nam Ron - Myanmar border lately? I’ve found a visa run service that leaves from Bangkok and costs 2000฿. Apparently that’s the only fee il have to pay. I’ve checked twice with the company and they have said there is no additional cost when I arrive. I’ve never used a visa service company before and I’m wondering what are the best options from Bangkok.

I’ve seen that the border pass costs 500฿. Or there is a 950฿ fee for a bus across no mans land including the border stamp.

Also cheap busses running from Bangkok to the local bus terminal in Kanchanaburi. Then catching another bus to the border and travelling back the same way etc.

Does anybody have any experience with this border crossing?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses experiences and options for making a 30-day visa run from Bangkok to the Kanchanaburi/Phu Nam Ron border with Myanmar. A visa run service is mentioned, costing around 2000฿, which includes entry and exit stamps. However, respondents suggest alternative options to save money, such as taking local buses from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi and then to the border, and clarify various fees involved in crossing the border.

For what it's wroth, I believe it's a popular topic. Just sort by topics, and a lot of posts will appear about how to do this border hop.

Yes I did.

1. It's 960THB for the day pass and the van taking you from the border, over to Htee Kee, and back again.

2. In *THEORY* you can walk across to the immigration office, and pay for it yourself. It will be about a 5km hike each way. Not good.

3. There are buses running from Bangkok to Kanchanburi. That would be bus/ minivan #81, which is 100THB which you can catch from Sai Tai Mai (southern bus terminal). From Kanchanburi, it'll be 60THB for the bus from the bus station to the border.

4. I wouldn't think about paying someone 2,000THB to hold your hand and take you across the border :\ way too much money.

@Benjamin *****
the 2000baht is the price of the border bounce from BANGKOK there and back and includes getting stamped in and out at Phu Nam Ron.

You're confused about the cost of getting driven across no-mans land, stamped in and out of myanmar and then driven back at the Phu Nam Ron border which IS 960baht with the cost of getting stamped in and out of Myanmar at Mae Sot, or Mae Sai <- which is 500baht.

The cost for the border bounce by a visa run company has the entry/exit stamp to Myanmar built into the price.
