TLDR : Answer Summary
The South African passports have recently been disallowed for border runs at the Kanchanaburi border due to a policy change, possibly influenced by intergovernmental agreements between South Africa, Myanmar, and Thailand. Users have reported that although they managed border runs previously, regulations now state that South African passport holders can no longer bounce back in without issues at this border, with suggestions that this rule may also affect other Myanmar border crossings.

, no, they not stamp Russian, even with multiple entry, they say Myanmar side not OK. Again this might only be a rule at Kanchanaburi, other border might be OK.

and we're done. It is what it is, deal with it, find a border that lets S/A passport bounce

Ok, if I don't learn anything new about Myanmar I will go there. Otherwise I will hopefully remember to update here while making my way to the South.

if you're asking how many 30 day visa exempt entries someone holding an Indonesian passport gets by land (which has NOTHING to do with this topic by the way ;) )

People from Brunei, Indonesian, Malaysian, and Singaporean nationals do not have a limit on the number of visa exempt entries by land.

BUT, many borders won't let them bounce in and out..

Question they may have is why you need so many border runs.

Their logic is to go to an embassy to get the correct visa.

They are only allowed 2 border hops by land per year. If they have a Multiple Entry visa, then they can hop as often as they want, as long as the visa is valid

Hate to be a wet blanket but it doesn't really make a difference why you can't bounce out and back in on a South African passport at Phu Nam Ron, you just can't and haven't for this whole year I believe..

I think you should talk to your government, it's a policy developed between the governments of South Africa, Myanmar, and Thailand. For what it's worth, I though it was always a policy that existed :\

If you have multiple entries or a reentry permit on your current stay/visa you should be able to use any border unless the other country says no.

No, but suddenly Thai Immigration said they were told by the counter part on the hill top no more South African, may be because it is not an Official border. But some other countries they also refuse, like Russian or countries close by, no idea why.
