What are the recommended border crossings from Thailand to Myanmar and Cambodia for a visa run?

Hello group. A few weeks (months?) ago there was an interesting post about border crossing points and warnings about Poipet + recommended places to go instead. I cannot find that post anymore so here is my question.

I think there was a place where you could go by land in Kanchanaburi but can't remember the name. Am planning on spending a couple of days in Sai Yok with my gf, so that would be perfect.

1- can anyone remind me of the border crossing name and if it is still an easy one to get a visa exemption

2- Do you need any visa when crossing into Myanmar? If yes then what is alternate recommended crossing in Cambodia? (I have a car so don't care about bus services)

3- so far this year, I have 2 extented visa exemptions (arrived by air) and an extended SETV from Vientiane. 1 or 2 months will be enough as I will spend the end of the year in Europe.

Thanks for your answers and have all a wonderful day

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking information about a border crossing in Kanchanaburi to Myanmar and has several specific questions regarding visa requirements, notable crossings, and recommendations. Comments provide insights into the Phu Nam Ron - Htee Kee crossing for easier access to Myanmar, clarify that a visa is not needed for short border runs, and suggest O'Smach as a hassle-free alternative crossing into Cambodia. The discussion emphasizes the importance of debating the cost and convenience related to these crossings.

Just so you know, the Phu Nam Ron - Htee Kee border crossing costs 950 to get ferried across no-manz-land get stamped in and out of burma and then get driven back to the thai side :)

You don't need a visa for Myanmar if u are just doing a border run. It will cost u 500b for border run for ex in Tachilek (price of *admission* for the day). If u live in CM this is where people like to do their 2 border run per year.

For Cambodia, in the thread u were refering too I was high on O'Smach border, which is about 90 min car from Poipet. O'Smach is the equivalent of Nong Khai border, hassle free.

I recommend to border run in Myanmar as it is less expensive then Laos or Cambodia. If u have a car go to whoever is closest. U haven't done any border run this year so it should be np.
