Hello all, next month I will be renewing my Thai retirement visa (non-imm type O) for the 3rd time. Regarding the Thai Immigration Dept requirement for proof of 800k baht, previously I had my bank (Bangkok Bank) print a copy of my passbook, stamp and then sign the documents the morning of, so that I could then submit along with my other documents. Well, Bangkok Bank recently informed me they no longer sign and stamp such documents. I asked them to do anyway, willing to pay. Nope! They informed me there is some new understanding between the Immigration Department and themselves that such authentication is no longer necessary. I’m a bit skeptical and would appreciate any feedback on this matter. Thank you.

I applied for a Non-Immigrant visa O from my country Belgium, I already received this visa for 90 days. When I arrive in Thailand, I need a TM30 document within 24h to go to the immigration office, here I would get a proof of residence. With my passport, visa and proof of residence, I could then open a Thai bank account. This is what I've learned. MY QUESTION: Will I get proof of residence from the immigration service if I state within 24 hours of arrival that I will be staying at a hotel for only 14 days or 1 month whose owner creates this TM30 form, or do I really need proof of residence for the 3 full months. I hope I can be well informed about this, for which my sincere thanks in advance.

Hello,

Im going to stay in Thailand for 5 months.

The non-immigrant visa "O" will be issued for a one-time entry and a stay of up to 90 days. An extension of residence can be applied for at the immigration office on site in Thailand, provided.

What notes/ papers (requisites) do I have to submit to the immigration office to renew my visa?

What is this procedure called? Renew your visa or convert your visa?

Like to say thanks in advance.

Hallo,

I am 59 years old, residing in Australia. In early August 2025 I will retire and get a cash payout in excess of 800,000 THB. It will be ample for setting up (required bank balance for 12 month retirement visa, car purchase, house renovation) and living costs in Thailand until May 2026 when I start to receive a pension, in excess of the 65,000 THB a month.

Once I receive that cash payout, I intend to make application via e-Visa for a 90 day Non-Immigrant Visa(O). The plan is I will fly to Phuket to stay with my girlfriend in a hotel for about a week, then we fly to Udon Thani to reside in her house for the remainder of the 90 days. I will later apply for a 12 month extension.

In regards to that 90 day Non-Immigrant Visa(O) application, I have these questions that I hope you can answer:

1. Purpose of Visit:

If I do not receive a pension until May 2026, can I use - Retirement (pension aged 50 or above with state pension who wishes to stay in Thailand for no longer than 90 days)?

Uploading bank statements will show regular fortnightly salary payments from my employer (in excess of the 65,000 THB a month), but not pension payments, and then the August cash payout from my employer.

Will the fact it's not a pension create a problem and possibly non issue of that visa?

Does it matter that I have not received pension payments at the time of application, seeing as the application asks for financial evidence of monthly income of no less than 65,000 THB or having the current balance of 800,000 THB?

Could I apply for the visa prior to the cash payout, based on my salary payments?

2. Accommodation in Thailand:

Under Accommodation type, for Private Property, it has a mandatory field for Accommodation name. What do I put in there for my girlfriends house?

3. Sponsor letter:

When I reside at my girlfriends house, as I won't be staying in a hotel, condo, Airbnb etc, I assume I will require a sponsor letter from my Thai girlfriend. What does it need to contain? Does it need to be in Thai or English?

Thanks

My 10 year old daughter just got a new passport. Her current non-imm (O) visa expires 10th July. We are departing Thailand permanently end of June.

Does she need to get her visa stamps transferred to new passport or ok to just exit Thailand showing both passports?

A couple of days ago I renewed my Non-Imm O for the 2nd year. I got a letter from the bank, however, it was the one for when first applying. I needed a statement for the previous 12 months. Being told by the Imm officer I would need to go to the main Bangkok Bank in Silom and apply, I thought, Oh no!. Instead I went to the bank downstairs in CW and spoke with them. I was informed by a very helpful staff, I could submit a request on my phone App and get it sent to me in 5 minutes. Print it, get it stamped by the bank. Problem solved. I told the Imm. Officer. Who then told others. Hope this helps others.

Hello, I need clarification please. In case of a request for a one-year extension of the non-immigrant visa O + 50 years (retirement). I said O and not OA. On the criteria of income required of 65000bth/month for a Frenchman, if I provide a certificate on the honor of the French Embassy in BKK as my monthly income is more than 65000bath/month, can you confirm that the document is accepted by the BI please? And ask more and more about this document, opening a bank account in Thailand and proof of transfers of 65,000 baht/month? Thank you for your help.

Is it possible to get a 30-day extension (without leaving Thailand) for an initial Non-imm O (spouse) visa, in order to buy more time to get other documents ready for the 1-year extension?
