Hello, I need clarification please. In case of a request for a one-year extension of the non-immigrant visa O + 50 years (retirement). I said O and not OA. On the criteria of income required of 65000bth/month for a Frenchman, if I provide a certificate on the honor of the French Embassy in BKK as my monthly income is more than 65000bath/month, can you confirm that the document is accepted by the BI please? And ask more and more about this document, opening a bank account in Thailand and proof of transfers of 65,000 baht/month? Thank you for your help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on whether a certificate from the French Embassy affirming their monthly income of over 65,000 baht will be accepted by Thai immigration when applying for a one-year extension of their Non-Immigrant O visa. Community responses confirm that such a document, considered an affidavit, is acceptable as an alternative to the usual requirement of a larger bank deposit. Additionally, it is noted that a Thai bank account can be opened with this visa type, and there may be tax implications for proving the income.

Yes, this is accepted by the Thai immigration as an alternative to deposit 800K baht in a Thai bank account for the first year. You don’t need to prove income or funds in any other way.

On a Non O long stay visa and one year extension of stay you also should be able to open a bank account in Thailand.

Yes, absolute correct. They say, it is an affidavit of your monthly income. You don't need a Thai bank account.

No hassle for me. Better a income statement from my embassy than 800k on a Thai bank account. Very easy

My embassy let me request the statement online. Mailed to me by EMS to Chiang Mai. It can be so easy. You have to go to your bank.
