Stuart Cumming Sorry for disturbing you with this question what is more than simple for ppl who are familiar with Thailand. Just want to be sure. I'm citizen of Latvia (EU). As I understand I'm eligible to enter Thailand visa exempt. That's what I see in the link below:

[members only]

My airline (Finnar) requires: "if you are traveling to Thailand as a tourist, you need to have a valid return or an onward ticket to another country."

As I understand now period of stay in Thailand on visa on exemption is prolonged from 30 days to 45 days. I'm going to apply for one extension for further 30 days at a local immigration office.

My questions:

1) Should I buy onward ticket to another country after 29 days or 44 days (unfortunately Finnair support couldn't answer this question) to be allowed to enter flight to Bangkok?

2) Which country is better (cheapest) to buy this airplane ticket as anyway I most obviously won't use it as I will apply for one extension of my entry for a further 30 days - so it'll be wasted.

3) What kind of proof of residence (minimum) in Thailand I should have to be allowed to enter Thailand as I'm not going to stay in one place all the time?

4) What is the best way for foreigner to get from Bangkok airport to Pattaya (taking into account I'm not familiar with Thailand and was there only once 22 yrs ago). What should I avoid (taxi scams etc).

5) Is it ok to take with me EUR instead of USD to change them in Baht or USD is more appreciated in Thailand in currency exchanges? Also I will need to exchange certain amount of money in Baht at airport. Obviously the exchange rates in airport aren't the friendliest. What I should be careful upon arrival in Bangkok airport and on my way to Pattaya not to be scammed etc.?

I've tried to read and research heaps of info with respect to the above but have to admit there's so much info that I've got a bit lost trying to accumulate it.

Sorry for quite a chaotic message and questions which most obviously will make a lot of ppl in this group laugh.

Your and/or any competent reply would be kindly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
