I may need to get an extension if my Non-B isn’t done in time. Would Chiang Mai or Bangkok be better to do this?

What do I need?

I’m on 30day exempt stamp now and passport is from USA.

I’m traveling to Chiang Mai today but will be back in Bangkok later this month.

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on a 30-day visa-exempt entry and is contemplating whether to extend their visa in Chiang Mai or Bangkok, especially since they will be traveling to both places. Comments suggest that it might be easier to obtain the extension in Chiang Mai, citing less congestion at immigration compared to Bangkok. The process for extending a 30-day visa-exempt stay involves visiting Thai Immigration and costs 1,900 Thai baht.

You can get the extension any time, you dont have to wait for the exempt to be nearly over.

If on an visa exempt entry for 30 days, you are seeking a 30 days extension of stay, you can go to Thai Immigration to obtain it. 1,900 Thai baht. And if you are going to Chiang Mai, get it there as CW in Bangkok is super busy.

...What visa are you on now?

...Is the NonB for Teaching or Business?

...Where are you living in Thailand?

...What is your nationality/passport nation?

You can try to get the extension in Chiangmai first since you are already there. Immigration is next to the airport.
