Will I need to pay a visa fee again when re-entering Thailand after exiting to Laos?

I'm a us citizen flying into chiang mai. I'm staying 6 days and exiting the country into laos in chiang khong. A week later I'll be flying back to chiang mai from Cambodia with several hours until my flight back to the united states. I'll have to go thru customs/immigration to get my checked bag and then check it back in with the airline I'm flying home with.

So here's my question, will I have to pay the visa fee again since I have to go thru immigration or will they honor my previous stamp in my passport from the week before?

Also how much is the initial fee?

Thank you for your help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
As a US citizen, you will not have to pay another visa fee when you re-enter Thailand after exiting to Laos. You will receive a new 60-day visa exemption stamp upon re-entry. This exemption applies each time you enter Thailand, so previous stamps do not affect new entries.

If you are planning to stay in Chiang Khong for a couple of days before you cross the border (which I would recommend), Baan Sakuna Hotel & Resort is one of my favourite places in Thailand. Happy trails.

That’s a shame, Baan Sakuna is amazing. Maybe next time! Enjoy your vacation.

There is no fee. And your stamp expires each time you exit. You get a new 60 days for free with each entry

Every time you enter you’ll get 60 days visa exempt. This started July 15. Have a pleasant trip
