Hi, Can I apply for an evisa while in UK for single entry tourist visa...but fly and spend a week in Malaysia first? So in other words have the visa ready from the UK while I am in the UK? Or would I need to apply for single entry while in Malaysia?

Good day all,

I'm hoping someone can please help as I'm new to travelling to thailand, I have been there only once on single entry tourist visa. For reference I have an Australian passport.

I would like to return to CNX for the period of 6 to 9 months (9 preferred). From some research it seems like you are able to do this on Single entry tourist visa or multiple entry tourist visa. From my understanding:

1. Single entry tourist visa - 60 days, +30 day extension. Go to neighbouring country before 90 days expire, for 1 or 2 days e.g., Laos, and apply for another single entry visa at the local thai embassy. Repeat every 3 months. Are there any potential complications with this process, like to be refused entry to thailand, or processing delays in Laos etc (how long does it usaully take to get the stamp?). I have never done this before, any advice here is appreciated. Do people usaully bring their checked luggage when going for the new visa or just leave it inside your thai accommodation?

1. METV - It is valid for 6 months and you can stay for 90 days each. Does this mean you can stay for 6 months total as long as you exit and re-enter after 90 days? Is there any way to use this visa to stay longer than 6 months? Really appreciate if someone can explain this cause I don't understand this visa.

Any advice or corrections will be highly appreciated.

Very new to the process but I have family in Thailand i would like to live with/visit.

Please leave a comment or send me a personal message.

Thank you

I am going back to thailand again with a visa. When I applied for it in the embassy,I did with intention of applying for a 60day visa which i would extend it for another 30days at the end of my 59days. But the thing is this time I went to embassy over a month earlier than my flight dates. When they gave my passport back,I noticed the visa length mentioned on visa stamp is mentioned 90days. But the thing is it starts from the day the visa got approved. So one month of it is the time that I ak not in thailand. So basically once i am in thailand and by the end of my 59days stay there, the 3months visa is also reached and ended. Does that mean I cannot ask for extention anymore since 90days has passed?

Hi again,

I applied for Single entry Tourist Visa, staying at my girlfriends (not official spouse) house. Vienna Thai Embassy wants "an invitation letter from the accommodation sponsor". Are there any special reqirements for the Invitation letter?

Can it be written by me in English? Printed in TH, signed and returned to me as a picture?

Hey! I've applied for a Canadian SETV (Ottawa) on the eVisa Thai embassy website. It's been around 30 days since and it's still in its first "processing, pending document check" phase. I've read online it can take up to 1 month but most people receive it within 2-3 weeks. My flight is January 23, should I be worried? Is there anyone that can tell me how long it took to get their SETV/METV?

Savanakhet update 21.11

Applying for single entry tourist visa

Showing cash or a screenshot of your bank account won’t get you past first base .

You need to show actual bank statement print out( 3 months single 6 months double ).

You also need to show them proof that you send the bank statement to your email .

I presented right in front of them uk cash not accepted or any cash,,

it was way over 20000 baht I presented .

Not accepted as evidence to support your trip !!!

I noted someone had applied for their tourist visa too early. After asking a question about trying to stay longer than 30 days with pre booked flights and accommodation I was advised by many to just get the tourist visa.

I applied straight away instead of waiting as I assumed with all of the flight and accommodation info supplied my visa would be when I needed it.

I was amazed to receive a call from the consulate in Canberra and was told they were sending everything back and to reapply nearer to my stay. It only cost me the 2 reply paid envelopes. I am applying again next month for a stay of 50 days starting late November.

Please kindly advise, is it possible to get Single entry tourist visa (from Laos) and extend for another 30 days (90 days in total) then travel back to the country of residence for a month and then apply for METV? Thank you for advice 🙂

Apologies if this has been asked too many times already. I’m going to apply for the 60 day tourist visa……. Not sure if they need proof of accommodation for the entire trip or just the first place. I’m seeing info suggesting both so not sure. TIA

A question for future reference on a Single Entry Tourist Visa. Can a rentry permit be purchased to use again, obviously within the validity period? I was of the opinion that once used, that's it, its no longer valid. But I'm having a discussion in another group where there are saying that even a single entry tourist visa can have a re-entry permit attached to it 🤷‍♂️ I think this may be useful info for all. Thanks 😁
