Hi, Can I apply for an evisa while in UK for single entry tourist visa...but fly and spend a week in Malaysia first? So in other words have the visa ready from the UK while I am in the UK? Or would I need to apply for single entry while in Malaysia?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can apply for an eVisa for Thailand while you are still in the UK, even if you plan to fly to Malaysia first. You just need to provide evidence of your travel itinerary, including tickets from the UK to Malaysia and then onwards to Thailand. Note that UK passport holders receive a 60-day stamp upon arrival in Thailand, so applying for a single-entry tourist visa may not be necessary unless you have specific travel plans that require it.

You can do either. You just provide the air tickets all the way UK - Malaysia - Thailand for application in UK on eVisa.

As UK passport holders will be stamped for 60 days upon entry now, you may not even need to apply for a single-entry tourist visa unless you have a specific reason for getting SETV.
